North Central Railroad Apprentice New Vacancy 2026 Prayagraj has increased the number of apprentice vacancies. Now, more than 3,000 jobs will be lost. The application window has also been re-opened and will be closing soon.
The Railroad Recruitment Board has once again provided a chance to the interested candidates to apply after increasing the apprentice seats in some trades. The application for this recruitment will be accepted till August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM. This will be your final opportunity to register, so be sure to get your application in before then.
Who can apply for Apprentice in Railroad?
Educational Qualification :
Candidate must have passed SSC/Matriculation/10th (or equivalent under 10+2) from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks.
Should have passed ITI in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT also.
ITI Trades : Fitter, Welder, Armature Winder, Machinist, Wireman, Electrician, Painter, Plumber, Carpenter/Wood Work Technician, Draftsman (Civil), Stenographer (English), Mechanic (DSL), Computer Networking Technician, Mechanic cum Operator Electronics Communication System, Stenographer (Hindi), Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Turner.
Result Date: Candidates whose result was announced on or after 07th July 2026 are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit (as of July 7, 2026):
Minimum Age: 15 years old (must be completed)
Maximum Age: 24 years (not achieved).
Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10 years (As per Norms).

Selection criteria:
Merit List: Selection will be made on the basis of merit list prepared as per the Apprentice Act, 1961.
Weightage: Equal weightage will be given to 10th and ITI marks for preparing the merit list.
DOCUMENT VERIFICATION: Candidates will be called for document/certificate verification in the ratio of 1.5 times of the number of vacancies.
Final Merit: Final Merit List will be prepared unit wise, trade wise and community wise.
Training: Selected candidates will be given training for one year and will be paid stipend as per rules.
Important Note:
Candidate name, father name and date of birth must be same as per his/her records. The verification of documents, if found any discrepancy, can lead to the cancelation of candidacy.
Application Fee Fee:- ₹100 for General/OBC/EWS candidates.
Exemption: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates: No fee
